Chrysanthemum Arrangements

Chrysanthemum Arrangements

In China, where chrysanthemums have been around since the fifteenth century, horticulturists bred them, creating thousands of hybrids that come in different shapes and sizes and in virtually every color.

When making a mum arrangement, make sure you start out with a tight grid using florist tape and remove leaves off of stems that are going to be below the water line.

To keep your mums lasting as long as possible make sure to spritz your mums with water daily, change the water in the vase every two to three days and add a few drops of bleach to the water.

Mum Varieties
- Incurve or football mums have large incurved petals.
- Spider mums have fully double flower heads with florets that drape gracefully in full bloom.
- Decorative mums have flat tops and short petals.
- Pompon mums have small and spherical flower heads.
- Single mums have only one row of petals.
