Christmas-Tree Mobile

Even Christmas trees without lights are fascinating to babies. This mobile is a breeze to make with patterned papers. Suspended over a changing table or crib, it's a decoration that also serves an important purpose: keeping your little one calm and entertained (be sure to hang it out of reach).

Mobile How-To
1. Using a utility knife and a straight edge, cut a triangle, 10 inches wide and 7 inches tall, from mat board (available at crafts and framing stores). For tree trunk, cut a 3-inch square, and taper sides.

2. Cut triangle into 3/4-inch strips; discard some and space the others out a bit. Glue embroidery floss down the middle (leave extra at top for hanging).

3. Cut decorative paper to cover both sides of matboard pieces, and attach with a glue stick (we used wood veneer on the base).
