Foliage Place Mats

All you need is a pair of scissors and a few other simple materials to grow big leaf place mats from Ultrasuede fabric -- no watering required. Ultrasuede, which is available at most fabric and crafts stores, doesn't fray and is machine washable; you can use our template for the leaf shape. We alternated between fabric in two shades of green to set an inviting table for lunch.

Place Mat How-To
Begin by printing the templates. Cut out the pieces, attach them so they form a leaf shape, and lay the shape over a large piece of Ultrasuede; pin. Trace the shape onto the fabric with a pencil, then cut out with scissors.
