Cozy Ring Cushions

Make a simple ring pillow that's well suited to the season by sewing it out of heavy fabric, such as tweed or wool, in a rich color. Start with two 7-inch squares of fabric. Position with right sides facing; sew around edges with a 1/2-inch seam allowance, leaving a 2-inch opening. Turn right side out, and fill with batting; hand-sew closed. Place a length of narrow ribbon in a coordinating hue at center; sew to pillow through all layers. Trim ribbon ends at an angle.
