Hanger Makeover

Deck out all those wire hangers in the spare-room closet so they'll look presentable for guests. Trace one onto a piece of kraft paper, adding 1/2 inch to the sides and 1 inch to the bottom. Use the template to cut 2 pieces of fabric. Hem each one at the bottom (it stays open so you can slip the hanger in). Then, with good sides facing, pin and sew sides, with 1/4-inch seam allowance. Stop about 1/2 inch short of the apex (to leave space for the hook). Trim excess fabric with pinking shears.
