did you know?

Heucherella, a cross between coral bells and foam flower combine the best of both plants, bearing a profusion of blooms and quickly growing into vigorous clump-forming perennials

general maintenance:

Deadhead spent flowers. Remove old foliage after frost or before new growth emerges in spring. Divide every 3?5 years.

pests/diseases:

Heucherella is quite disease resistant. In particularly wet springs, it may be subject to some leaf damage by insects, but this rarely warrants action.

how to sow/plant:

Plant in spring or fall. Choose a shady to partly shady site with moist, well-drained soil and amend with well-rotted manure or compost. Set plants at the same depth they were in pots, spacing at a distance equal to their mature spread. Water after planting, and mulch to conserve moisture.

water and fertilize:

Monitor soil all season to maintain even moisture. After flowering, feed with an all-purpose fertilizer, following label directions.

garden hint:

Use heucherella's distinctive foliage to brighten a woodland border.
