Winter savory: Satureja montana var. prostrata

Similar to marjoram and thyme in aroma, the winter savory is a fine choice for an herb garden. The shrubby evergreen has a woody rootstock and linear, pointed leaves that mingle with whorls of tender blossoms ranging from pale pink to purple. The leaves often play a part in stuffing, meat dishes, and legumes. Also an ingredient in "herbs de Provence."
