Although this tender perennial produces spikes of insignificant flowers in summer, Joseph's coat is primarily grown for its beautifully colored leaves. An excellent plant for containers and sunny borders, it provides a delightful contrast to the flowers and foliage of neighboring plants with its deep-purple, glossy leaves on trailing stems. Joseph's coat, or indoor clover, does not flower significantly, but when it does, the small cluster of white flowers resembles that of clover, hence its common name. Profile
