Cricket Miracle Toedancer, a tortoiseshell tabby from San Jose, California. "Cricket Miracle Toedancer was barely 6 weeks old at the time this picture was taken. Born street kittens, Cricket and one of her sisters, not yet a month old, were lured by adventure and got lost from their wonderful mother and siblings. It was summertime, so during the day they played a lot and were very busy. But when darkness came, they were lonely and frightened. That's when the nighttime crickets felt pity for them and took them under their wings. Her sister was very shy, but Cricket (unnamed at the time, of course) being quite social and independent, learned from the crickets how to sing their music. So delighted were the crickets that in a special moonlit musical ceremony on a grassy knoll, complete with a dandelion bouquet, they gave her the name of Cricket. When rescued by humans, she became Cricket Miracle. Then when her toe dancing talent was discovered, she became Cricket Miracle Toedancer. She and her shy sister now reside with us."
