Take comfort in a satisfying, easygoing meal. Start with an iceberg salad with cherry tomatoes and creamy dressing, then enjoy crisp-skinned roast chicken, sweet shallots, and tangy warm potato salad.

Serves 4

Iceberg Wedges with Buttermilk Dressing

Roasted Quartered Chicken and Shallots

Potato Salad with Cornichons and Capers

Chocolate Pudding with Whipped Cream

1. Cook pudding, then refrigerate.
2. Roast chicken. Meanwhile, prepare salad dressing, and refrigerate; boil potatoes.
3. Add shallots to chicken; return to oven.
4. Make vinaigrette; combine with warm potatoes.
5. Remove chicken and shallots from the oven; let stand.
6. Cut lettuce into wedges; drizzle with dressing. Whip cream.
