This versatile necklace adjusts to your outfit and your mood. Wear it long and lean, double it to accentuate a plunging neckline (shown here), or turn it into a ribbon-tied collar.
This feminine piece mixes crystal, smoky quartz, iolite, and other translucent beads; imperfect stock offers the best value. Leaving some extra space around the crimp lets you double the strand for the collar variation.
Cut a length of nylon-coated beading wire (ours is 55 inches). String beads, leaving a few inches at ends. Thread both ends through a metal crimp, leaving a 5-inch gap between first and last bead. Pinch crimp with needle-nose pliers; trim ends.
However, if you want to transform your necklace into a glittering four-layer collar, double the strand, and loop a length of grosgrain ribbon through each side to tie.
