Practical Endpapers

Make a cookbook even more helpful with the addition of a bookmark, a pencil holder, and an envelope to collect notes and recipes. For the pencil holder, use white craft glue to attach 1 1/2-inch-wide grosgrain ribbon horizontally across the middle of the book's inside back cover. Then place a pencil on top of the ribbon, and glue the ribbon back onto itself, creating a loop. Next, glue a portion of a narrow ribbon along the spine edge of the inside back cover, leaving enough hanging free to tuck between pages and dangle out the bottom. Finally, glue an envelope slightly smaller than the back endpaper over both ribbons.
