Stay organized all year, every year, with a magnetic perpetual calendar that you can make yourself. Attach it to your refrigerator or filing cabinet, and rearrange it monthly to align the days with the dates.

The calendar consists of a vertical band of months, a horizontal band of days, seven vertical bands of dates, and three squares of individual dates. Print the numbers and letters onto colored paper using stencils, stamps, or a computer and printer. Cut 1 1/2-inch bands for the dates, and number them vertically as follows: 1, 8, 15, 22; 2, 9, 16, 23; 3, 10, 17, 24; 4, 11, 18, 25; 5, 12, 19, 26; 6, 13, 20, 27; 7, 14, 21, 28. On the three loose squares, print or stamp the numbers 29, 30, and 31.

Print the days of the week, spacing them evenly, along a 2-inch-high, 10 1/2-inch-long horizontal strip. Print the months down a 2-inch-wide vertical strip. Attach the colored paper to adhesive-backed magnetic sheeting (available at art-supply stores), and cut out the bands and squares with a utility knife. Finally, cut out three windowlike squares from the magnetic sheeting to indicate the month, day, and date.
