Knee Pad

Weeding and thinning are hard work, and your knees are always the first to go. Spare them with this smart cushion. Our pad is made of Sunbrella, a sturdy, water-repellent acrylic available in a wide selection of colors.

Knee Pad How-To
1. Cut a piece of fabric to 12 by 18 inches. Fold it in half, right sides facing; pin a pair of elastic loops into the seam opposite the fold. Sew seams in two sides; turn right side out. With a pencil and a ruler, draw a series of lines parallel to the fold and 1 1/2 inches apart for the length of the pad. Topstitch the lines, creating hollow partitions.

2. Using a funnel, fill the partitions with buckwheat hulls or flaxseed, then sew up the last side with a slip stitch. Roll the pad and secure it with elastic straps when not in use.
