Buttoned Plant Sling

Suspend plants stylishly with this twine-and-button hanger. Begin with a metal ring and ten pieces of twine, each 36 inches to 48 inches long and folded in half.

1. Loop each length around the ring, and pull loose ends through for a slipknot.

2.  Pair right string of each loop with left string of the next; thread each pair through a four-hole button. Continue around ring; adjust buttons so they are 2 inches from ring.

3. Reverse direction for next tier: Pair left sides with right; place second row of buttons 3 inches farther along. Add third row of buttons at 3-inch intervals, reversing direction again. Larger pots may need a fourth row. Knot loose ends at top; hang.
