New Year's 2008

I am a firm believer that elegant can be simple. My Lenox Holiday paired with my husband's mother's Fostoria Holly stemware makes an elegant setting. The cloth napkins are folded to resemble neckties and are slipped into gold napkin rings. Two glass Christmas baubles are mounted on round mirrors and are used as single vases and are filled with fresh cut flowers. A single red pillar candle sits atop an old Heisey footed candle stick in the center of the table. The bread and butter plates are set to the left with an oyster glass which will be filled with a fresh fruit compote. Sterling flatware, Gorham King Edward, the matriarchal pattern of my family. Table is 1950's Drexel, single pedestal mahogany with ribbon back chairs.
