Lavender Candles

Steps:3
Beyond its appealing aroma, lavender has been shown to help relieve insomnia, stress, and anxiety. Martha Stewart Living crafts director Marcie McGoldrick was inspired to include it in the home-spa products on the pages of the magazine (and in the lip balm). Enjoy the relaxing scent with candles made from soy wax mixed with lavender essential oil.
Materials
  • 2 pounds soy-wax chips
  • 6-inch wick with wick tab
  • Glass vessels, such as canning jars, in various sizes (2 pounds of chips yield 32 fluid ounces of wax)
  • Skewer
  • Lavender essential oil
  • Transparent glass paint (optional)
