Candy Cane Rickrack Cards

Steps:4
Other Ideas:
Christmas
You can find an overwhelming selection of ready-made cards during the holidays, but a homemade greeting passes along your best wishes to family or friends and is sure to be something they'll treasure long after the season has passed. This project uses red and white rickrack -- easy to find at notions and department stores -- to create a candy-cane-patterned card.
Materials
  • Rickrack, in red and white
  • Tacky glue, such as Aleene's
  • Clothespins
  • 2 pieces card stock, in contrasting colors
  • Fray Check
  • Small bow (optional)

Hanukkah Candles

Steps:5
Give your celebration a special glow with these hand-rolled candles, made from sheets of beeswax in the subtlest shades of ivory, butter yellow, and deep olive. Make a set for yourself, and make more to give as holiday gifts that are both pretty and useful; during the eight days of Hanukkah, a total of forty-four candles are lit.
