Tracing Paper Sachets

Steps:4
These pretty little sachets look like something you'd discover in an elegant Parisian boutique, but they're quite easy to make. Fill them with sweet-smelling potpourri, and tuck them into Christmas stockings or give them as small gifts. We used a mixture of dried lavender, calendula, chamomile, and roses for our potpourri; a few drops of lily-of-the-valley and freesia-scented oils enhance the fragrance. Add a teaspoon of orris root, a fixative, to help retain the potpourri's scent.
Materials
  • Dried flowers for potpourri
  • Orris root
  • 1/2 yard silk organza
  • 1/2 yard tracing paper from a roll, or two sheets from a pad
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Rotary cutter
  • Mat
  • Needles
  • Seam binding
