Tub Teas

If you're searching for the perfect gift for mom this Mother's Day, why not give her something handmade, such as these soothing tub teas, adapted from "Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Crafts"?

Nothing relaxes like a good long soak, especially one coupled with a heady infusion of calming scents.

Tools and Materials
Epsom salt
Coarse sea salt

Dried lavender, rosemary, or lemon verbena
Measuring cup
Mixing box
Scissors
Ruler
Cheese cloth
Wax twine
Gift tag
Essential oil (optional)

Tub Teas How-To
1. Pour 2 cups Epsom salt, 1 cup coarse sea salt, and 1 cup dried lavender, rosemary, or lemon verbena into bowl; mix.

2. Cut two 8-by-12-inch rectangles from cheese cloth and stack the rectangles on top of each other. Pour 1/2 cup of salt/herb mixture on top of cut cheese cloth, slightly off center toward one of the 8-inch sides. Fold the 12-inch edges into the center, covering the mixture. Fold cheesecloth in half, matching the 8-inch edges. Gather cheesecloth around mixture and secure with a piece of waxed twine. Attach gift tag to end of the wax twine.

Tip: To make scent last longer, add a few drops of essential oil.
