Tigers are fascinating creatures and because they are endangered, it is important to understand how and where they live.

Tiger Facts
- They are the largest members of the cat family and are renowned for their power and strength.

- Tigers are solitary animals and aggressively scent-mark large territories to keep rivals away.

- They are nocturnal hunters and prey upon buffalo, deer, wild pigs, and other large mammals. They have no natural predators except for other large tigers.

- Their major role in the environment is that they keep prey populations in check.

- Female tigers give birth to litters of two to six cubs, which they raise with little or no help from the male.

- Cubs can't hunt until they are about 18 months old, and remain with their mothers for two to three years.

- Their lifespan in the wild is  eight to 10 years. In captivity, it is 20 years on average.
