Student Notice Board
![]() A perfect accessory for the busy student -- or anyone with lots to do -- a bulletin board is just the thing for hanging class schedules, transportation passes, and all sorts of reminders or mementos. This easy technique requires little more than birch plywood, upholstery tacks, and a few lengths of monofilament. Tools and Materials Student Notice Board How-To 2. Measure down 1/2 inch from the top of the board at the edge, and make a mark. Repeat for the opposite side. Space other tacks along the edges of the board at any distance you choose, but make sure the opposite button is even. 3. Using a hammer, lightly tap the tacks into the board, leaving a 1/4-inch space between the tack and the board. To avoid damaging the surface of the tack, you can place a piece of paper on the top surface as you hammer. 4. Secure one end of a piece of monofilament with a square knot around the base of a tack. Pulling the line taut, wrap the other end around the opposite tack, and knot it. Repeat with each of the remaining tacks. Use the clips to attach any notices to the monofilament. |
