If your outdoor furniture is looking old and rusty, follow these simple steps to restore it to its former luster. Depending on the condition of the furniture, this project can take up to two days to complete. Tools and Materials Restoring Outdoor Chairs How-To 2. Remove rust with either a drill with wire brush, coarse steel wool, or coarse emery paper 4. Apply one coat of Rust-Oleum paint in a color of your choice.
