Map Memory Board

Souvenirs and photos of family trips and vacations are usually put away for safekeeping or placed in an album, but creating a memory board is one way to display them prominently. Martha constructs a memory board made from a map and piece of fabric-covered fiber board. Once it's finished, Martha pins small flags at the locations she's visited, as well as an assortment of photographs, ticket stubs, and other memorabilia around the edges of the map.

Tools and Materials
Map of the United States, Europe, or other area to which you have traveled
Thin poster board
Spray adhesive
Fiber board, such as Homasote (available at hardware stores), cut 5 1/2 inches larger all around than the map
Fabric
Staple gun
Decorative pushpins or furniture tacks
Eye hooks
Hanging wire

Map Memory Board How-To
1. Mount the map onto the poster board, using the spray adhesive. Cover the fiber board with fabric, and attach it in place with the staple gun.

2. Pin the map in the center of the fabric-covered board with pushpins or furniture tacks. Attach the eye hooks and hanging wire to the reverse side of the board.
