Follow these tips from renowned makeup artist and best-selling author Bobbi Brown for beautiful holiday makeup.

Essential Techniques
1. Layering two moisturizers plumps up the skin and can take years off your face.

2. Concealer does more for your face than any other makeup. But you should always use corrector underneath it. Corrector cuts the darkness, and concealer brightens the under-eye area, instantly making you look more awake.

3. Women should wear two blush shades: a neutral color that looks like your cheeks after you've been exercising, and then a pop of a brighter color just on the apples to really give your face a lift.

Perfect Red Lips
Red lipstick is a holiday staple and an easy way to make your everyday look festive. It's a look -- despite what you may think -- that anyone can pull off. To find your perfect red, think about your style and the kind of statement that you want to make. And, of course, find a shade that you're comfortable wearing.

To keep your red lips modern, don't match your lipstick to your outfit or your nail polish. Think about striking a balance between your eyes and lips -- you never want your features to compete with each other for attention. Pair your red lipstick with fresh, clean skin and a neutral eye: Try skin-tone-colored shades of eye shadow and classic black mascara.

Chapped lips are a beauty no-no -- especially when paired with dramatic color -- so be sure to pamper dry lips before going red. Try smoothing eye cream on lips, and then use a toothbrush or a washcloth to gently exfoliate them and get rid of dry skin.

Smoky Eyes
A smoky eye is the most dramatic look for evening -- it's both pretty and sexy. Remember to keep layering the color, and continue to check until you like the look.
