Now that you've taken the time to choose the perfect ornaments and decorations for your tree, you don't want to worry about them falling off and shattering on the floor during the commotion in your home around the holidays. Here's a Good Thing to secure your ornaments in place. Instead of relying on the hook that's already attached to them, use 24-gauge floral wire.

Securing Ornaments How-To
1. Choose a color of 24-gauge floral wire that coordinates with your tree.

2. Thread wire through loop at top of ornament.

3. Leave 1 inch showing on one end and 6 inches on the other end.

4. Wrap the inch of wire around loop and secure to ornament.

5. Use the 6 inches of wire to "pigtail" twist around branch.

6. When you're ready to take off the ornaments, hold the branch and slide the ornament off. Store each ornament with the wire attached and they'll be ready to hang when you take them out next year.

Resources
24-gauge floral wire can be found at jamaligarden.com. The wire is available in green, silver, black, gold, copper, apple green, red, blue, pink, and purple.
