Embroidering on Towels How-To
Prepare Machine for Embroidery
1. Wind 2 or 3 bobbins with bobbin thread.
2. Thread machine with 40 wt. rayon embroidery thread.
3. Insert a universal 90/14 needle.
4. Select design to embroider.
Prepare Hoop
1. Use one layer of heavy tear-away stabilizer.
2. Use one layer of heavy water-soluble stabilizer.
3. Add hoop clips.
4. Mark vertical and horizontal center lines on stabilizer in the hoop.
Prepare Towel
1. Determine placement of embroidery on towel.
2. Mark a vertical and a horizontal center line based on the position of the embroidery.
3. Baste towel to hoop.
4. Place a layer of heavy water-soluble stabilizer on top of towel and baste again.
Follow Prompts on Embroidery Machine to Stitch Your Design
1. Once the design is complete, remove basting stitches.
2. Tear away excess stabilizer from the front and back of towel.
3. Remaining stabilizer will wash away when the towel is laundered.
