Clover Hair Pin6 Ratings (See All) ![]() Little girls love to wear pretty things in their hair. And nothing's prettier than a tiny clover. Attach a barrette, comb, or bobby pin, and you can wear springlike blooms even in the depths of winter. Clover Pin How-To 1.Cut small rounded leaves, then stitch them together (see basic flower how-to below). 2.Next, sew a sliver of green felt to the back for a slim stem. Use a tiny dab of glue to hold clover in place on a bobby pin, and sew it to the top part of the pin to secure. Basic Flower How-To 1.Cut one petal or leaf to desired shape, then cut around it to make the rest. 2.Sew a running stitch through bottom edge of each petal. 3.Tie thread ends in a half-knot and pull tight, bringing petals together. Tie again to knot. 4. Arrange flower pieces: Stack petals on top of leaves, and button on top of petals. Push needle up from back of leaves, petals, and button, then back down through the layers; repeat a few times. Tie off. 5.Place a dab of glue on back of flower and press to barrette. To secure, sew flower to barrette with a few stitches. Tip: thick felt holds its shape better than thin as you cut, tug, and sew |
