Chic Tweak: Dress Detailing

From Prim and Proper...
Rely on that go-to dress one too many times and you'll discover the thrill is going...going...gone!

To Wild Thing
Inspired by a piece in Valentinos fall 2007 collection, this patterned-hemline sheath (above, left) can be yours for the price of a bleach pen. Once you put pen to cloth, its forever," warns Katie. So start with a great bargain, like this dress from H&M, or one that's bound for the thrift store."

DIY How-To
1. Pick up a Clorox Bleach Pen ($4 at amazon.com and most drugstores and supermarkets).

2. Get creative and draw a zebra pattern. (If you want a little guidance, print out our template.) Look for a color change in about 10 minutes. Reapply bleach if necessary.

3. Rinse with cold water and air-dry.
