What inspires you?I want to get people cooking. I want to show them that cooking more approachable, fun and delicious. That is why we have created the brands that we have to make cooking and entertaining less overwhelming and more doable. I want to empower the at home cook.
What makes your business stand out?I think there are a lot of traditional spice blends available on the market: italian seasoning, herbs de provence, steak seasoning, etc. I felt there was a lack of diversity in the marketplace for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern blends, so I decided to create my own. We have four unique blends: Seafarer, Merchant, Nomad and Gypsy. They are all very different and multi-purpose. They were all made salt and sugar free, so they home cook could determine how much or little they would like to add.
What advice would you give an aspiring creative entrepreneur? The only person who stands between you and your success is you. If you want it, you can have it.
What does American Made mean to you?My grandfather was a butcher in New York and I would always hear the same stories over and over again about how the patrons came to the butcher shop because they had great meat but they came back time and time again because they wanted to be greeted and told jokes by Ben, my grandfather. I believe it is that person to person connection that is so valuable. People can buy products from all across the globe and they do everyday, but when they have an opportunity to meet the maker and hear their story, that is something that is something really special. That is what American Made means to me. We work the farmers market every Sunday and whenever I tell people that I started the business with my brother, their faces immediately light up. They love our products and become invested in us because they believe in us and want us to succeed.
