Tell us about your business.

Our journey began when we decided to start turning recyclables or just oddball items around the house into something else. We seek to keep even the most basic of items out of landfills, while doing what we can to make the world a greener place to live in. It started with the bottle cap fishing lures, and people loved them. I attached a brand to it, Daryl and Cat, and came up with a clever little name, the Pop Cap Guppy Busters, and that's where my shop started. We strive to bring quality while being what we call a complete use project. Our funding comes primarily from the refunds from recycling cans. That money gets turned into materials, the materials are then used to near 100% usage across our different products.

Tell us about your workspace, shop, or studio.

My shop is run out of my small apartment. My equipment to do so is limited. I do what I can with what I have. 100% of my business is run off a tiny little tablet, in a tiny little home, along with my three little cat friends.

What inspires you?

Taking items that were once considered rubbish and turning them into something that serves another purpose. To keep those items out of the trash. Every little bit we do makes a small impact on making the earth a cleaner place to be.

What makes your business stand out?

Our funding for materials comes from recycling cans. We buy materials from those refunds, and then use almost everything those materials gives us, across several projects. There is very little, or no waste at all.

What advice would you give an aspiring creative entrepreneur?

Hang in there. Be creative, fight the good fight. Get your name out there, market not only your products, but you as an individual. Share with people why it is that you do what you do, and share your inspiration with others that would like to one day do the same.

What does American Made mean to you?

To me, American made means that the product is made right here in the country, by hard working, inspired American people. It is also symbolic of proud craftsmanship, no matter what it is being made.
