Grands Homemade Ice Cream and Sweets...
Tell us about your business.I started my business in 2012. I had recently lost both my parents. I wanted to do something in their memory. I think it was a way to keep my sense of family which I felt like I had lost with the loss of my mom and dad. I built it, I decorated it, named it after my mom, and I make the things we sell using her and my grandmothers recipes, as well as my own. The folks love our ice cream. Everyday we make new flavors. Plying with different ingredients. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to go to this place that I created and work doing things I love to do. I am very lucky person.
Tell us about your workspace, shop, or studio.I have a small space with a kitchen in the back. It's has a window so people can see us making the ice cream and other things. We have some tables out front with the ice cream freezers. I wanted it to give the feel of going into Moms kitchen.
What inspires you?I love when people tell me "it's the best I ever had" when they are talking about something I have made for them.
What makes your business stand out?We use fresh local produce , keeping things as fresh as possible. If I can I will go to the farm and pick the fruit myself to make our pastries and ice creams.
What advice would you give an aspiring creative entrepreneur?Be careful how you spend your money but you need to be able to invest in your business to grow.
What does American Made mean to you?It means not only that is was made in America but hopefully with American made ingredients.
