The Power of Nature & Science in Expert Hands: Nearly two decades ago, clinical esthetician, aromatherapist and herbalist Barbara Close realized that clients at her Healing Arts Center & Spa in East Hampton, NY struggled to find the ideal anti-aging skin care solutions. At the same time, medical studies were proving that chronic inflammation and irritation are at the heart of aging and weakened skin. In response, she created NATUROPATHICA—a breakthrough line of professional skin care that delivered real results and yet was safe enough even for sensitized skin. Today, Naturopathica is trusted and recommended by professionals in over 350 of the most renowned spas across the USA and Canada. BARBARA'S PROMISE: 100% SKIN-LOVING INGREDIENTS: Naturopathica is dedicated to the health and well-being of skin, which means I never use ingredients that can cause irritation, so your skin can focus on looking younger and feeling healthier.

What inspires you?

I founded my Healing Arts Center and Spa in 1995 with the goal of helping people attain optimal well-being. I soon realized, however, that my challenge is to educate people about healthy skin care in a world where the beauty industry is surrounded by hype and misinformation. Not only are many “natural” product lines filled with synthetic ingredients, but many of these ingredients are leading allergens and irritants, making the term “skin care” a complete paradox. My experience is that consumers want safe skin care that really works. Whatever your concern, as a clinical esthetician and product formulator, I strive to create authentic tools that deliver results. As an aromatherapist, herbalist and wellness author, I want our products to provide a sensorial experience as well. I invite you to open one of our signature blue bottles and enjoy the aromatic power of our premium botanical ingredients.

What makes your business stand out?

Naturopathica creates professional skin care, body care and services that are dedicated empowering to overall well-being. Our commitment to the Naturopathica pillars of ethos, efficacy and education differentiate Naturopathica from all other brands. We not only strive to provide the most high-quality, efficacious products, but also to educate consumers about the ways that they can embrace and achieve well-being with 100% skin-loving solutions.

What advice would you give an aspiring creative entrepreneur?

I would encourage an aspiring creative entrepreneur to have a clear vision, standards and purpose and to stay true to that throughout their journey. I have maintained trust from clients and professionals for nearly 20 years because I have never sacrificed my commitment of using only 100% skin-loving ingredients. I also recommend that you continue to learn and grow on a personal level to evolve your business. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Therapeutic Herbalism and I enjoy discovering the latest ingredients, techniques and technologies in skin care to create the best products for our clients and partners.
