American Made Since 2012
I’ve always been by my mother’s side baking extravagant sweets for innumerable family events. Over the years, I progressed to developing my own recipes rooted in her teachings. To this day we often bake together, trading techniques, secrets and new flavors. My lifelong interest in creative expression led me to a career in Art and Education. I’ve seen firsthand the massive barriers due to insufficient funding for Arts education. To fill the gap, Arts programs often run small-scale fundraising events like bake sales. I realized I could move the concept of the bake sale to a national audience with an online bakeshop and fundraising partners. This led me to develop Sweet Generation. A portion of each sale goes to our fundraising campaign partners. By selling our products to local communities, and nationally to online customers and specialty food stores as business develops, our sweets generate an alternative source of funding for Arts Education.
What makes your business unique?Sweet Generation brings community-based Arts Education fundraising to a national online consumer market by leveraging the universal love of sweets and the urge to do good. We focus on the energy and passion of the community, people's natural inclination to help a good cause, and the universal sweet tooth! And who doesn't love a cupcake with a cause? A portion of every purchase goes directly to Arts Education organizations so our customers are literally Helping with Every Helping. As artists and business people, we know the importance of learning effective business skills, and we want to share these lessons and experiences with young people, particularly young artists. Sweet Generation helps by providing the opportunity for young people to have the experience of running a temporary small business, selling, marketing, organizing and taking financial responsibility.
