An invitation not only sets the mood for an event, but it is a warm welcome into someone's life. I help welcome others to your celebration.

Tell us about your business.

I've been a print graphic designer for 15 years. I've always done invitations on the side as gifts for friends and families. After my 2 boys were born, I needed to find a way to make a little extra money working from home. Thus, I discovered Etsy and my Nickel Design shop was born. I came up with the name by combining the names of my boys - Nicky + Daniel = Nickel. This little shop has been growing slowly over the last few years. With it, I've discovered what a joy it is to help others plan their celebrations. I hope to one day get to the point where my shop is a full time endeavor. After all, I do have to put those two boys through college : )

What makes your business stand out?

I put my heart into my business. I work from home with two little boys that both attend different parent participation schools - which means that I don't have a lot of free time. But somehow, I don't mind working in the evenings on my invitations, or spending a whole Sunday packing things up to ship to clients. I love my job. I love that others love my work. And I love that I can spend meaningful time making a difference in my boys' lives at the same time.
