Food,

Tell us about your business.

I launched Purely Elizabeth in October 2010. As a Holistic Nutrition Counselor, I was looking to fill a void in the market for healthier, more nutritious gluten free foods. We first started with baking mixes. Hand mixing and packing in a small commercial kitchen. About a year later, we launched our award-winning ancient grain granolas which immediately received tons of praise. We targeted independent natural food stores to start as well as local Whole Foods Markets. Today our products can be found in over 2000 retail locations including Whole Foods Market nationally, Wegmans, The Fresh Market and several other regional chains.

What makes your business stand out?

Purely Elizabeth caters to those seeking healthy, delicious, gluten free foods. Our products are certified made with organic, gluten free, vegan, free of refined sugar and non-GMO project verified. Each ingredient in our ancient grain granola is hand selected for it’s superior nutrient value. We mix in ancient grains, oats and seeds along with chewy dried fruit, organic coconut oil and organic coconut sugar for a perfectly crunchy, salty, sweet taste. Our gluten free granola is then baked in small batches to create a purely wholesome, good-for-you treat. Perfect for breakfast with milk or yogurt, crumbled on top of ice cream or fruit for a sweet dessert or as a healthy snack by itself. Our granola will keep you fueled throughout your busy day.

What's the best business advice you've received?

Best advice I received was from my dad who said "Don't hesitate, take risks"
