Farmhouse Chic

Farmhouse Chic revives vintage and antique furniture in modern finishes and upholstery, redoing the Gulf Coast one piece of junk at a time.

Tell us about your business.

Farmhouse Chic is the creative child of a vintage junkie and wife and mother struggling to help provide for her family after the local economy fell apart and the bread winner was left without a job. What started out of love and necessity has evolved into a well known local design and refinishing business for this fun, forward thinking trend setter. Where junk abounds, therapy in found in the process of making a once neglected piece into a functioning work of furniture art. I see Farmhouse Chic evolving into a thought provoking approach on how a home is decorated. Keeping people out of big box stores filled with processed wood type materials imported from outside of the USA and showing them how a well thought out artistic approach of previously loved furniture can make a home so much more than furnished.

What makes your business stand out?

Being a female owned business and a predominately male trade makes you stand out a little, it also means you have to work even harder to prove you are just as good or better.

What's the best business advice you've received?

Someone shared this quote with me: I cannot tell you the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone. Ed Sheeran
