Tell us about your business. When my mom taught me how to sew in the seventh grade, I had no idea that it would one day lead to my own business. I started K8made four years ago after teaching myself how to make a clutch. I love the idea of owning something that no one else has, so most of my clutches are one-of-a-kind or limited editions. For me, inspiration comes most often from nature, movies, or the fabrics themselves. Every item I sell is meticulously crafted with great attention to detail. I want my customers to receive an item that is not only unique, but made to the best of my abilities. Over the years, my line of products has grown to include various styles of purses, custom diaper bags, and sets of clutches for brides and bridesmaids. It's my dream to turn this small, on-the-side business into my full-time career some day. More than anything, my goal for K8made is to offer exceptionally made purses and provide incomparable customer service.
What makes your business stand out?K8made is unique in that all of my purses are either one-of-a-kind, or made in limited editions. There will always be new and exciting items to choose from, and you will never see the same purse twice. I also love to work directly with customers to create custom items, especially clutches for brides to use on their special day.
What's the best business advice you've received? The best business advice I've received is to only make items I would actually purchase myself. If I wouldn't buy it, how could I expect someone else to make a purchase? Each purse I create is a reflection of myself. I want to make products that I can be proud of and confidently stand behind.
