KMC Jewelry Designs
Tell us about your business.Since childhood, I have always had a love for the creative process, using my hands and a fascination with jewelry. I loved the sparkle and beautiful colors found in gemstones and crystals, they were absolutely irresistible! As an adult, my fascination with jewelry kept me on a continual search for pieces that I felt connected to, were unique, and handmade. Not finding a connection with commercial designs in traditional shops, I started making jewelry. Today, the beauty of the gemstones influence my designs. There is so much fun in "playing" with these beautiful pieces of nature until I "see" a design in my head and can't wait to grab my tools! My studio is located in Westchester County, New York, which allows me to be close to nature and also to my customers who shop in local boutiques. I love the buy local and "Made in America" movement and see my business expanding into more of an online and small boutique presence.
What makes your business stand out?KMC Jewelry Designs use natural gemstones in unique color combinations. These natural beauties are mixed with warm 22kt gold vermeil and hand wire wrapped.
What's the best business advice you've received? The best advice I ever received in business is to be flexible. During my previous career as an executive in the fashion industry, those were words of wisdom from my direct supervisor. Being flexible leaves you open to opportunities. Flexibility allows you to satisfy customers last minute "emergency" requests, fill boutiques reorders/needs, and adjust your designs to satisfy customer wants. Flexibility allows you to take a different design path than originally planned, resulting in new best sellers.
