joy craft & design
Tell us about your business.I am a fine art watercolor artist with other creative interests. I opened a curated boutique space to showcase some of my work as well as other quality craftspeople and artisans in my area. Everything is hand selected with an eye to handcrafted, upcycled and restyled items. I love color and contemporary style and design mixed with vintage and antique one-of-a-kind items. My store has brought more talented people out of the woodwork! I love being a venue bringing them together with a potential customer and having a friendly, warm and inviting place for them to shop. I love my town and I want visitors to love it, too.
What makes your business stand out?I think a number of stores across the United States have begun focusing on items that are handcrafted, upcycled and restyled. I'm excited about that. What makes joy craft & design unique is my take on that concept. The store is uniquely me and reflects my love of color, my styling and my ability to pull things together in a unique and creative way.
What's the best business advice you've received? You have to learn to sit through the swings of busy and not busy with equanimity and grace. What people see and how they feel is a reflection of your space and what you create. I love everything in the store and I want to show it to its best and highest purpose.
