Food,

Tell us about your business.

We started baking in a little cottage nestled off the coast of Maine, on Little Cranberry Island. Our desserts are Maine made, handmade, and made the old fashioned way, with only the finest all natural ingredients. Fresh local eggs from well cared for chickens (a happy chicken lays a better egg), fresh Maine butter, & never anything artificial! We have never outgrown the habit of collecting shells & sea glass, and it was a natural process to combine old Island and family recipes with the magical forms we find on the beach. The mussel shape adds a little elegance to our whoopie pies, and the clam is humble, but delicious, just like the island buttermilk cake that has it's shape. We have always believed that "simple pleasures" are what Maine life is all about, and nowhere more so than on a Maine Island. Our unique cookies, cakes, crackers, & whoopie pies are all inspired by the "simple pleasures" of island life. We hope that every bite becomes one of your "simple pleasures".

What makes your business stand out?

By combining old family and Island recipes with the magical shapes we find at the shore we have created beautiful, whimsical, and unique desserts and baked goods. They uniquely evoke the beauty, romance, and mystique of a tiny Maine island AND they are mouthwateringly delicious. We use only the finest all natural ingredients, such as fresh local eggs from well cared for chickens(a happy chicken lays a better egg) unbleached flour, fresh Maine churned Maine butter, Maine spring water, and Maine sea salt. We bake with a sense of tradition and a unique sense of place that comes from living in Maine. We ship our products to all 50 states.
