Tell us about your business.

Bette and Robb Durr are a husband and wife team of artists. They met in art school 40 years ago and have worked together ever since. They started designing doors in 2009 when Bette planted her first fairy garden and wanted a better door that any she could find in a store. Soon they expanded to accessories, more doors and fairy related items. They sell from their studio near Cleveland, OH and on Robb and Bette design each item together, then Robb sculpts the original, makes a mold and casts it in resin. Bette then paints each item with a vinyl based paint. This process makes the doors and accessories weather resistant, holding up extremely well in an outdoor environment. HiddenWorlds product has grown from a part-time endeavor a few years ago into almost full-time production. They would love to see their fairy garden items go into a national market, with selective wholesale sales.

What makes your business stand out?

We have a background of experience that has been a training ground for what we are doing now. Robb has over 30 years experience as a sculptor for Fortune 500 Companies and understands the need to understand your market. Bette has a writing and performance background. We have also have worked together on projects for over 40 years. What began as a project to supply ourselves with a few things we loved for our fairy garden has grown into helping others see their own dream gardens come to life. And we love that. Fairy gardening is a market that is still in a beginning stage. We are so excited to be part of it with our HiddenWorlds fairy accessories.
