Annalida’s Gourmet Foods was started as a tribute to my mother, Annalida, who was the chef of our home kitchen back in a time when families gathered most every night at the dinner table. The smiling gracious way she carried herself is a memory to all she encountered. The front label on each bottle we fill has her picture taken from a photograph as a young lady in Brooklyn, NY. Our business is the result of marketing research conducted over a 7 year period in farmers’ markets in and around Sarasota, FL and Cape Cod, MA. During that period, we developed numerous proprietary recipes for unique specialty food items that we sampled and sold at the various markets. You can now find our products in select retail establishments on the Florida Suncoast. Our immediate goal is to broaden our distribution throughout the state of Florida with future sites on the Northeast particularly within the boroughs of New York City where Annalida grew up.

What makes your business unique?

At Annalida’s Gourmet Foods UNIQUE is our middle name. Whether the product is our “Absolutely Without A Doubt The Best Bloody Mary Mix Ever!” (which could be the only freshly bottled unpasteurized bloody mary mix sold in the refrigerated section of gourmet markets anywhere), or our “The Planet’s Most Flavorful Hot Sauce” which is the hot sauce that can accompany any of your favorite foods without blocking the true flavor of the prized edibles, or our versatile mustard sauces that can be drizzled on finer portions of fish, seafood, poultry, and vegetables in addition to performing the standard task of adding flavor to sandwiches. Our mission at Annalida’s is to broaden the flavor options for your favorite beverages and foods. Each product is unique from others that are available in the market place and promises to give your taste buds a new and exciting experience.

What's the best business advice you've received?

Our strong suit for entering the competitive specialty food industry is our passion and artistic ability to create unique flavored foods and beverages. The most helpful business advice that we have received so far has been from our counselors who donate their time from the local office of SCORE. They have helped us brainstorm, map out a plan of attack, and made us aware of some of the obstacles and mistakes that they have experienced in working with other businesses. We look forward to their continued advice as our business grows.
