Tell us about your business. We got started by making a few oyster knives for friends. Word got out and us being artist folks starting asking us to forge them a custom oyster shucker. We sat down and settled on four core designs and started to market them and before we knew it we were swamped with orders. We have hand made over 5000 oyster knives and have never had one returned. Each piece is individually hand crafted, stamped with our logo and hand signed by one of us. We would love to see our business evolve more nationally and internationally while keeping every thing hand made in the USA.
What makes your business stand out?The oyster knife itself is unique in that it is designed for one specific function....opening an oyster. Our knives are completely hand forged from one piece of iron and not two are the same. We have created a working piece of sculpture. At one time the only way to get an oyster knife was to make it your self or have one made for you. We are filling that void in making an affordable hand made, high craft oyster knife.
What's the best business advice you've received?Dont stop. Get to work.
