Citlali Creativo

American Made Since 2010

Alexandra & Joe Andrade

Seattle, Washington
We are husband and wife team creating unique designs and turning them into wedding invitations and stationery for all to enjoy.

Tell us about your business.

I had always had a passion for paper and design. While making items for friends and family out of our home part-time (mostly middle of the nights), I was finally able to turn this into a full-time passion in 2010. As I got busy, we grew a little and straight into a hubby & wife business team. We can both say that this is a more than full-time position for the two of us, but we're not complaining. We have a small local studio which keeps us busy and we can only be thankful to those that shop local and in the US. From start to finish, we design and print everything in our shop. For any specialty methods/printing, we do our best to pass it forward and use other local or small businesses.

What makes your business stand out?

We accommodate our designs to be made available in any language. Spanish is our native language but have done invitations in many languages - French, Greek, Italian, Vietnamese, Norwegian, just to name a few. Our inspiration can come anywhere from antique quilt patterns (fabric is my second love and have enough to open a fabric store) to hair on a shower wall forming interesting but great shapes (I know, kind of ewww, but neat when it happens).

What's the best business advice you've received?

We've been told and heard so many but below are a couple that have stood out and may be because of whom the advice has come from. -If you can NOT talk passionately about what you do, then you're in the wrong business. -If you're always thinking you're going to fail, you've set yourself up for failure before you've even started. There will always be downfalls but if you never try, you've already failed.
