Roxiedoggie is a product line for dogs that combines classic design with modern sensibilities featuring elevated bent wood feeders.

Tell us about your business.

Roxiedoggie is a line of elevated feeders for the modern dog created by furniture and product designer Maya Khaira (that's me). My company, Roxiedoggie, was born out of my inability to find any beautifully designed feeders on the market for our Chocolate Lab mix Roxie. Everything seemed disposable, and I wanted a feeder that was as long lasting and functional as it was beautiful. I designed and fabricated my own elevated feeder for Roxie inspired by iconic mid-century modern bent wood furniture. That first feeder propelled me to start this company that provides design conscience pet owners with furniture quality dog products that fit seamlessly into their modern homes. I would love to expand the Roxiedoggie line to include beds, leashes, bags, and other sundries inspired by iconic design and modern architecture. At Roxiedoggie everything is made with love, because we heart dogs, and we heart design".

What makes your business stand out?

Roxiedoggie is about bringing back thoughtful hand made quality design to every aspect of your home. I design for people, their pets, and their architecture as a unit. Dogs deserve design too!

What's the best business advice you've received?

My Dad, Gurnam, has always given the best (mostly unsolicited) advice. His thoughts on business: "Don't let adversity get you down." and "Being nice to others costs you nothing."
