Tell us about your business. You could say we have a thing for old leather. More specifically, we are intrigued by the way a beat up boot fades, cracks and folds, proudly wearing scars from a lifetime of abuse. At the same time, we have a passion for creating unique and memorable accessories. Combined with our massive collection of old boots, we're in hog heaven. Salvage West takes great pleasure in cleaning and cutting up those old boots to make special cuffs, bracelets, jewelry and more right here in the USA. If you're a person who appreciates special, one-of-a-kind goodness, then you may want to consider Salvage West.
What makes your business stand out?Discarded leather goods is our forte. You could say we are landfill alchemists, turning what would be garbage, into eclectic and unique accessories. All items are handmade in good ol' Utah, USA. We cater to the "one-of-a-kind" crowd, you know who you are. No two items will ever be alike...ever. The leather boots are hand picked, dissembled, and made into fabulous accessories. Salvage West is the epitome of an American made and community saving aesthetic. It's in our blood to up-cycle while also creating a unique and memorable product.
What's the best business advice you've received?1. The Customer Comes First. - It is vital to our company that we understand our customer and the demographic that we are catering to. Without this knowledge, our product would be lost forever. 2. Sometimes Ideas Have to Be Scrapped. - Starting over isn't a bad thing, it's healthy and necessary for another product to develop. 3. Work Smart, Not Hard. - Projects come and go and the process is half the battle. Thinking outside the box is crucial and a skill needed to complete the circle. While there might be an initial way to accomplish a task, there may also be an easier and more effective solution. Don't let idea generating stop.
