Willow Cabin Works NY
Lisa Walsh & Sandy Bornstein
Tell us about your business.Willow Cabin Works NY was formed with a simple goal in mind: to craft beautiful useful things that call upon our souls through color, form and materials. We are moved by experiences in our lives, changes of season, colors, patterns, textures, stories or the play of light to make, to craft. We hope that our works will call upon your soul, too. We started this shop out of our own gifting and crafting passions: giving beautiful, handmade things to the people in our lives as we celebrate the large and small milestones. Birthdays, holidays, growing families, housewarmings, thank you gifts, little reminders of the beauty and love that is all around us: we create works, in a broad range of prices, as gifts for all these occasions. We hope to grow our business online and find our niche in the craft fair circuit. The fairs have been a great testing ground for expanding our line and developing our brand as we meet people customer base.
What makes your business stand out?Just about everything we make has a story...a loved one or a celebration for which the item was first made, then developed further, then experimented with and finally made available for our customers. Nearly design had a use, a celebration and a personality in mind when they were first brought into the workshop.
What's the best business advice you've received? You can't make everything; what you do make make it well.
