Tell us about your business.

I started making skin care products for myself because I wanted chemical-free and fragrance-free beauty care suitable for my sensitive skin. Our skin absorbs about 60% of what we put on it, so it’s important to keep that in mind when choosing the right skin care. I found an abundance of toxins and chemicals in many products, so I started researching and developing my own, creating products that are as pure to nature as possible. As my skin care products caught on with friends and then their friends, Naturally Susan's was born. My partnerships with salons and spas, retail venues, and artisan markets provide me with the opportunity to personally showcase my skin care line, and I stay connected with customers on a global level through my e-commerce website and social media channels. I’m passionate about what my business and products stand for, and I look forward to further expanding my retail presence and continuing to share my passion.

What makes your business stand out?

Our time is precious. Naturally Susan’s products are about skin-healthy and they're about versatility. They're about simplifying our lives and making our lives easier. I used to travel a great deal for business so simplifying my beauty routine and my travel bag whether I was going from day to evening, to the gym, shopping or on vacation are fundamental to the products that I develop. What you'll find in my skin care portfolio are products like the Avocado Lavender Salve, a moisturizer that can be used for all over body. Its concentrated and long-lasting formula is great as a hand cream, lip balm, elbow and heel softener, hair balm, and night cream. You'll also find roll on moisturizers that are long lasting, portable, and can be used on face, neck, and hands and as a natural perfume too. My products are effective, long lasting, and versatile. And, most importantly, my products are about being kind to your body.

What's the best business advice you've received?

Follow your passion. This is advice that experienced entrepreneurs continue to share with me, and I feel that this is one of the keys to happiness and personal success. I’ve learned that if you’re passionate about something, it’s worth exploring since you never know where it may lead.
