Tell us about your business.

Dali Rivera knows that a well-prepared kitchen is the first step to a great meal. She always dreamed of making products that would make it easier to be a creative cook. Her dream became a reality when she was accepted into the Entrepreneur Boot Camp for Veterans (EBV) with Disabilities Program, at Syracuse University, NY in July 2010. The program gave Dali the tools she needed to realize her business goals and that same year Elite Revolutionary Solutions, LLC (ERS) was born. Its mission is to enhance the culinary experience by helping chefs, foodies and home cooks make delicious and nutritional meals as well as for ERS, LLC to become well known for employing veterans and providing its employees with resources pertaining to veterans' needs. ERS, LLC donates 10% of proceeds from the sale of each product ordered in purple heart wood to the Purple Heart Service Foundation.

What makes your business stand out?

There aren't many women in the cutting board business, but Dali Rivera is one of them. As person who was trained to think outside the box in order to accomplish missions, she created this gorgeous line of cutting blocks that have built-in drawers like no one has ever seen. They are hand-made here in America by a veteran. The Maestro Blocks Collection is made with the highest quality hardwoods (purple heart, black walnut and maple) to last a lifetime. Food grade glue is used to assemble them and they are sanded to a smooth finish and sealed with a mixture of mineral oil and beeswax.

What's the best business advice you've received?

The best business advice given was that if I truly have a passion for something and I feel that I have not given it my all, then I haven't. Therefore, if I want it so bad, I will do whatever it takes to make something bloom if it has the potential.
